compare two PDSEs Rc=8, IEB205I USER DATA FIELDS UNEQUAL

Two PDSEs to be compared are: I201844.COPY and I201844.COPY.A01
The members of both are: A, B, C。

RC = 8 and job log saying“IEB205I USER DATA FIELDS UNEQUAL”。


What's the meaning of "SER DATA FIELDS" here?
What does it mean by "USER DATA FIELDS UNEQUAL"
Can the RC be 0? whether yes or not, what's the reason?

Try option 3.12 under ISPF and see what happens

USER DATA FIELDS is stored in data set directory.

How to view USER DATA FIELDS information?

edit/view/browse, member list the two pds/pdsE and look at the columns after the member name
those are the ISPF statistics and should be different
