Your request isn' t very clear
IGYCRCTL is not an acronym nor an abbreviation
it' s the name chosen by IBM for the cobol compiler
the one thing standard in IBM jargon is that the first THREE characters of almost anything
identify the component
for example
IGY - Cobol compiler
IKF - Another cobol compiler ( very old )
IST - Communication server aka VTAM
IDC - access metod services / vsam
IKJ - TSO
ISP - ISPF dialof manager
ISR - ISPF |

Sometimes a load module will have an ALIAS name for ease of use, such as IERRCO00 has alias SORT.
IGYCRCTL has no such alias name. |

This was a great information for me, not sure if it solves TS query, but it "straighten" many "curved lines" in me, Thank You enrico.. . Now it's in my "Medulla oblongata".. |
