What is unique use of IDCAMS EXPORT/IMPORT as all the things they do can be done by REPRO? |

But does REPRO do them better or make life easier ?
If you EXPORT a cluster you do not need to know the VSAM definitions to recreate it using IMPORT.
IMPORT / EXPORT is the standard method for catalog backups and recoveries.
REPRO should not be used with RRDS as it may damage the internal structure of the file when using REPRO to restore from a backup.
That's my initial thoughts, but I am sure there are other reasons. |
