i am deleting some record from a VSAM file . I want to take the backup of all deleted records in a file. Can i take the backup of deleted records in to a flat file or backup of VSAM can be taken in ONLY a VSAM file?
Please help ASAP?

You can use IDCAMS REPRO to copy records from VSAM to sequential file. You can select records using keys/RRNs.

Sort has ways of splitting files, sending the unwanted ones to one file while sending the wanted ones to another file....

Yes, assuming you send the deleted records to a file that you do backup....
