Hello,
I suspect the 4-field and the 5-field difference is a typo.

If this was implemented, how would the user ever get to field 3 on any row to enter data?
The tab on a 3270 causes the cursor to be placed at the next unprotected field. You could modify the attribute bytes and make fields 2-n protected, and a tab would skip over them - but they would not be available for data entry. If you simply want the cursor to move to the first field of the "next" row, use the "new-line" key (on many emulators it is either the Enter key or the Ctrl key - it is usually something that can be customized). |

EIBPOS will give you the position of the cursor. |
