Hi All,
When we open a dataset to view or edit, we are getting the following screen before we get the actual data to be viewed or edited.
what is the use of this?

Using that screen, you can specify the initial options for VIEWING/EDITING a dataset.
Setting is given like that.
If you don't want that screen, you please talk with MVS Shop Team.
Correct me if I am wrong. |

Hi Agni,
Usually you type the command RES for viewing/editing the dataset when the dataset initially opens.
Using this entry Panel, Initial Macro . . RES, the command automatically gets executed each time you try to view/edit a dataset.

Hi,
Acronym 'RES' is referring to... REStart or Remote Environment Server. I also use this command, but not sure about the full-form.. (full-forms convey better message I think), if anyone knows here, please share. |

You can turn off that panel using the options/DSLIST settings available in the top.
I am not sure of the name as i dont have access to mainframes. |
