Hi,
I am looking for a mechanism where in you can supress the leading zero's while writing the number(count) to a file.
The problem here is, say i have a counter which i defined as
WS-COUNT W 9 N MASK (BWZ 'ZZZ,ZZZ,ZZ9')
when i increment this counter based on certain conditions and finally when i display the number on spool i am able to mask the leading zero
but
when i use the same variable to write (after moving it to the file variable) i am not able to supress the leading zeros
Thanks |

Hi guptae,
i have tried masking my file variable, but it hasn't been of much help, still it is not been able to supress the leading zeros.
for ex my file variable has been defined as
OUTFILE1-NUMS 53 9 N MASK (BWZ 'ZZZ,ZZZ,ZZ9')
If you know a way out please let me know? |
