Hi,
Can anyone suggest a tool to convert the Easytrieve file layout to a COBOL copybook?
Thanks,

I remember that someone on this forum mentioned an IBM utility for this, but at the time the posting and my interest was the opposite. I found this statement "The IBM Migration Utility tool can convert Easytrieve to COBOL" on this web page Use [URL] BBCode for External Links
I know that such a utility exists but I have not actually seen it. |

Please provide any tool in REXX or any JCL which could solve the purpose to change record layout of file in Easytrieve format to that in COBOL. |

Hello,
Will this convert Easytrieve layouts to cobol without converting the code?
Many people want to create a "cobol copybook" from an Easytrieve definition, but have no intention of replacing the Easytrieve code. . . |

I do not think that such tool exists. You can prepare a tool using Rexx to read the layout and convert it to a COBOL copybook. I do not think it will be a big deal. |

I used that tool some years ago - do not remember details.
Link is still alive, and there could be some changes on site,
I believe it would be better just try that page:
