HI,

Can u help me how to specify primary and secondary space based on no of records.

Eg: I have a ITAPE file which contains 5967886 records, i want to convert it to DASD file. Can you help me how to give primary and secondary space for cylinders.

Thank you.

Hi,

I think you should also consider the record length. Moreover, I think you should consider why you would want to store a file containing 5M+ records on DASD. There must be a pretty good reason why that file is on tape. Do you need all of the 5M+ records on disk? Maybe you can just filter out what you need. Just my 2 cents icon_redface.gif

Can't help without the LRECL and RECFM.

Also search the forum as I have already answered this question countless times before.
