Hi,

Some of the BACK-UP steps in my shop are written as:

Code:
//STEP160 EXEC PGM=MULTIGEN,PARM='NOOV',REGION=4096K

In above, what's the role of PARM='NOOV' ?

I executed the same step without the PARM='NOOV' & compared the outputs via SUPERC & there was no mismatch in the outputs. I think NOOV means NO OVer-write (not sure though), still when there is no difference in the outputs, with or without the parameter, what's the significance of coding this ? Please suggest.

Replies are based on a voluntary effort,
... maybe ...
... nobody is interested in replying,
... nobody knows the reply
... the program You are quoting is installation specific
... in any case it might be easier to search the docs
..

regards

Hi,

I searched the docs, did a little googling, but didn't get anything good, so asked.

Anyways, your reply suggests that, at least thread has been seen. icon_smile.gif

Hi Anuj,

I believe yours is the first/only topic across the forum for "multigen".

You might talk with your system support people and see where it came from or if they have more info.
