Moving comp value to Numeric value

Hi,

I need to move a comp value to a numeric field.
I have defined like this

M-AIF-SSN-TAXID 73 5 P

O-AIF-SSN-TAXID 27 35 N

I am getting error
17 O-AIF-SSN-TAXID 27 36 N
17 *******B097 LENGTH INVALID FOR TYPE - N

Can someone help me?

The length you've specified is far too long.

Hi,

I am just adding to what dick has specified above, the maximum

length supported for a numeric field is 18 bytes.
