Now there is a bright feature for IBM COBOL & ENTERPRISE COBOL.

If you new to Mainframes, try to learn Enterprise JAVA and CICS/TS also.

If u know COBOL u cant do any thing in MAINFRAMES.U cannot run u r programmes with out JCL.So u go through JCL.

if you know the cobol .you better concentrate on file handling .in this KSDS and ESDS are key factors.you do more programming on these. you learn jcl and DB2 also. now a days there is a nice market for IMSDB try to learn that.

There are a lot of stuff after COBOL, try REXX, PLI, CLISTs, ASM....
