Hello,
Talk with your tape management people. You should be able to get all of the informatin you want from them (they will have reporting capabilities and may show how you can run your own.) |

Thanks for the help, unfortunately they are not able to help me, we are physically moving an entire server to another location !! so guess the response "we are not available to help you right now " ! ! !
However I did refine the search by looking for DISP=OLD, which means that the file can be TAPE, FLAT or VSAM among others, and of course DISP=SHR has to be disk ! at least I don't have a HUGE list now ! ! !
Thanks for the help ! !

You're welcome
Another thought is that if you did a catalog list, you would be able to see the VOLSERs and from that you should be able to tell which are tape and which are dasd. Most locations have completely different volser naming for tape and dasd. |
