how to convert a information from database to flatt file

i have doubt how to convert a information from database to flatt file?
if any tool is used to do tha?

Hi Anand,

I have one idea, to convert data base to Flat file, Read data from data base and write in flat file...... Is it correct..

Please correct me, if i am wrong..

What is the reqt. of converting the IMS database to flatfiles?

Either you can write a program to download IMS DB to flatfiles
or

There are BMC utilities which can be used to unload IMS DB to flat files.
or

Try IMS File Aid utility - Extract option
