HI,
Can someboby help me? We are under OS390 2.10.
1. How to create a VSAM file greater 8 GB. Is it possible? What can we do?
2. Can we define a KSDS greater 8 GB? I need a sample.
3. Can we define a ESDS greater 8 GB? I need a sample.
Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome to these forums
Have you tried this on your system? If so, what messages were presented? How many records do you want the file to handle and how long are they?
Please post your jcl, idcams/define statements, and the sysout info. |

The answer to all of your questions is YES, you can.
Why - it will almost certainly be totally wrong - because this is a site specific problem. I have no way of knowing what is coded in your SMS ACS and SCSD so can not show you how to do it.
I can only suggest that you go talk to your friendly helpful obliging storage group. Yes - I'm a storage analyst and administrator |

You don't need a sample, as OS390 2.10 does not support extended addressability for VSAM .It was not introduced until z/OS 1.3 . ESDS and KSDS support not added until z/OS 1.5 (give or take a release) |
