Sqlcode -333 for a table with a column VARCHAR(32000)

I created a table with a column VARCHAR(32000) FOR BIT DATA. At insert I get sqlcode -333 !
What's wrong ?

Have you bothered to "look up" what the -333 return is?

-333 THE SUBTYPE OF A STRING VARIABLE IS NOT THE SAME AS THE SUBTYPE KNOWN AT BIND TIME AND THE DIFFERENCE CANNOT BE RESOLVED BY TRANSLATION
