i am new to this forum.well ,wher to use REUSE=YES in jcl for vsam.if u provide example code that will be better.

thanks for the reply.i just wanna code that in jcl'REUSE=YES'. for a vsam file . where i have to specify that.

Exactly where it tells you to code it in the fine JCL manual, easily accessed from the link above. The one marked "Manuals". |

Hi !
I know I am being picky, but since You posted to the "sms & vsam" and vsam forum i feel You should be warned about the differences between the reuse parameter for a tso allocation and the reuse parameter for a cluster definition !
in the first case it is an addition parameter used to avoid allocation errors
in the second case You must consider carefully it' s use since it implies that for an "open output" operation the vsam cluster will be reset to an empty status
