Hi there
I have a new field called EMAIL on one of my IMS DB/DC online screens. Since the underscores are frequently used in the email accounts, it is not acceptable that the screen transforms the embedded underscores to spaces. Anybody knows how to handle this to make sure the screen takes the embedded underscores as underscores instead of spaces?
For example, I typed in JOHN_SMITH@XYZ.COM in this field
EMAIL: JOHN_SMITH@XYZ.COM_____________________________
and when I pressed enter key, this field showed as below, the embedded underscore is gone
EMAIL: JOHN SMITH@XYZ.COM
Any thought is much appreciated!
Thanks

You should notice from your own post that the underlines ARE where YOU did not put them. The underlines are part of the HTML http WWW web "smoke and mirrors", you do NOT need to keep them, they will be provided as needed by the wonderful world of small boxen. |

Hello,
Might it be that on your screen(s) the fill character is defined to be "_"? |

The problem got resolved.
My online screens converted all the underscores to spaces when they did add/update. I added some coding to ensure the spaces would be converted back to the underscores in the EMAIL field.
Thanks William and Dick!
