Hi Learnmf,
Where do you want to know this in CICS or in Tools. If it is CICS it is a process like Login and Logout. In CICS two transactions are there CESN and CESF. CESN for Sign In and CESF for Sign Off. Both are very similar to your login/logoff which authenticates you to CICS.
Bye,
Reddy. |

sign in --> to move the elements to production region
sign out --> to retrieve the elements from production

hi badal,
when you give signout=y then at that time the elemnt is checked out in you id , that means no one else can retrive the element unless and untill u sign in the element.
Where as in singout=n then any one else can retrive the elemnt. You can say we can give signout=n for dummy retrived of the copy from endevour.
Hope this will give you clear idea. Let us know if you have any doubt. |

Hi Kanak,
No, its not like that. Once u signout the element, even if you dont sign in the element into production, other person can override ur signout and still can retrieve the element source code. There is an option called Override Signout in Endevor.
This also answers learnmf's question. Once the element is signed out ( either by normal signout = Y or by Overriding someone else' signout) u can always generate the test and then Move ( what is refered to as Sign In) the element to Production.
Hope this clarifies. |
