Hi,
I am trying to set up a simulated environment of Mainframe in my personal PC. When i searched in the net, I found that Hercules can be used as a mainframe simulator in many operating systems including Windows.
I downloaded the application and installed it in my PC. But, I guess it requires lot more work than just downloading the Hercules software to simulate a mainframe environment. From the many different websites all i could find was the downloading instruction of Hercules and instructions on how to create a dasds in your PC.(Even that is not working as expected when I tried).
I just want to know if anyone has tried it already and knows the things required to simulate a mainframe environment?.

hercules is only a mainframe hardware emulator. After installing hercules your system is able to install mvs or any other operating syatem thats run on a mainframe so if you had a cd of mvs then install it or otherwise go for turkey mvs thats not actually the true mvs os its a clone. for more about mvs turkey go at
