To find the defect record we have to use FILE-AID . In file Aid go to Browse u can get the invalid file r defect files list |

What do you mean by "defect record"? Are you meaning that there are
HIGH-VALUES/LOW-VALUES in certain records of the file? If so process each record and use INSPECT with TALLY to find the "defective".

Hi Babu,
Is your problem solved now to detect bad record ?
First thing is to define "what is a bad record" acc to your requirement. Then you can also remove them from data file by SORT.
