Is there any tool to get the number of segment occurence in each segment in a database. This can be done programatically but if there is a tool available then I thought it would run faster. Please suggest.

There are utilities, depends on what your shop has.
eg unload utilities would have a report output normally with segment counts.
your DBAs should have details of them.

Could you explain what you exactly want to know? If you want to know how many occurrences of a segmenttype are present use some tool like re-organise.
