Hi,
I thinks NULL doesn't belong to any data type. |

Hi Ganga,
NULL means nothing to enter or not applicable. For example take a table for storing employee information as EMPNO,ENAME,JOB, SAL,COMMISSION and DEPTNO. But only sales department people will have COMMISSIONS then what will be the value of COMM for others? that is NULL. The same situation can be applied for CHAR, VARCHAR or DATE types also. SO THERE IS NO SPECIFIC DATA TYPE FOR A NULL.
Bye,
Reddy. |
