Hi,
Can anyone tell me what are Table bases in Mainframes? I just know that Table base is a dataset to store a group of tables. But i want to know what is the difference between a file and a tablebase.
Thanks,

Table bases, no, it doesn't ring any bells....
Database tables? Databases do contain tables (in a broad sense).
A file can be considered a collection or records, each record containing various fields of data.
A database can be considered a collection of tables, each table a collection or rows, each row containing various fields of data. |

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. But i was not asking about database tables.
I know little about Tablebases.
? A great way to manage and access application table data
? tableBASE is a third-party vendor product
? owned and maintained by Data Kinetics Ltd.
Its basically.. one dataset with many tables.
Thanks,
