What do you mean by "open"?
- Using ISPF editor to EDIT
- Using ISPF editor to VIEW
- Using ISPF editor to BROWSE
- ALLOCATE a dataset with specific disposition (SHR, MOD, OLD)
- Background/Foreground?

Thanks for replying but here's the real problem...
I know I can check out the user's who have the file in use(through ISPF) but I want to know the mode in which they have it opened....
Suppose I have a set of 20 people in which only I open the file in edit & rest in view mode but someone has opened a file (through ISPF) in Edit mode & now as that file is already open in edit mode,I am not able to edit it than how do I know who is it ....do I need to go to everyone to check that out or is there a way of finding that out.. |

hi geek_mohit,
when this thing happens just press "F1" twice . it will show the users
currently using the file. then u can identify the user id and easilly find who he is..
regards,
