Hi Boys & Girls,
Hope all are fine. I believe all of you have a PC in your home or a terminal in your office.
Ok, this is the place to share the contents of your desktop with others. This is just for fun, don't mistake me!
Ok, let's start!
1. Minimize all your windows. (Windows+M)
2. Now you can see your desktop. Press "PRINT SCR" button. (Available in Top-Right of your keyboard)
3. Now open MS PAINT program. (Start>Accessories>Paint)
4. In Paint, press CTRL+V (or Click EDIT Menu and select "PASTE")
5. Now you can see your desktop in Paint. Save as "yourname.JPG" (Don't save as BMP, it takes more size).
Good, now open imageshack.us/ in a new window and upload your desktop file there. (Use Browse button)
Now copy the URL displayed in imageshack (Direct link to image) and Paste the URL here using
option. You should use "POST REPLY" instead of "QUICK REPLY".
Example:
Code: |
<IMG>http://abc.com/def.jpg</IMG> |
Ok, let's ready for the party! |

FYI:
I've had the opperunity once to install a linux-desktop for myself because my tasks involved both mainframe, RS/6000 and HP/UX machines.
Well, accessing the RS/6000 and the HP is very nice and "native". I also took a look at x3270, the open source terminal emulator for "us". And it just works . The nice thing is that you can configure both a mainframe session on you graphical screen (like you're used to with windows) but also as 1 of your console-sessions. Works very nice, look & feel of a real terminal.
So, at the office, when you are charched for windows-fees, 3270-emulation-fees, telnet-fees, X-server-fees etc etc. Just smile and pay because you WANT to use windows. When they try to explain that you NEED windows..... you know better now. |
