PDS of the Same names in different Volumes

Hi,

How can i create Datasets of the same name in different Volumes? I tried in the 3.2 panel specifing the Volume serials. But that said "Duplicate Dataset name"

How do i do this???

Hi Suresh,

You can do it, but you can't catalog them. That means you have to include the vol ser every time you reference them.

In 3.2 you'll see a line for the volume. Fill this field with the desired vol ser. Remember the files can't reside on the same vol and, as I said earlier, you must include the vol ser every time you reference either file.

And if they are SMS managed volumes, then it can not be done as SMS datasets must be catalogued.
