What is the need of version while creating the new GDG datasets and when do it get changes ?

There may be times when you wish to update an existing generation of a GDG, possibly due to bad data, or some sort of problem with that particular dataset. Sometimes this is done by creating a new version (changing V00 to V01 and leaving the generation number the same) of the dataset, so that it's position in the group remains unchanged.
