Hi All,
I have a question regarding symbolic parameter..
Question: Why we give .. in DSN parameter, when we are using symbolic
====== parameter in DSN parameter?
//DD1 DD DSN=&A..&B..&c
the answer may be that in DSN we have to use .. if we are using symbolic parameter, but I have seen in so many placesin code where they are giving..
//DD1 DD DSN=&A.&B..&c.D.&E
Thanks,
Sand. |

The ampersand (&) marks the beginning of the variable, and the period (.) marks the end. Additionally, the various nodes of the dataset name are delimited by a period (.). So, for your two examples, if A=A and B=B and so on:
//DD1 DD DSN=&A..&B..&C
equals
//DD1 DD DSN=A.B.C
whereas:
//DD1 DD DSN=&A.&B..&C.D.&E
equals:
//DD1 DD DSN=AB.CDE |
