I have a flat File with various fields. Now I need to filter out those records from the file where a particular flag is 'Y' and write it another file. I need to do this without using any program...Is there any easy way 2 do this...

Firstly try to use individual queries and in the correct forums, you will have a better chance of a quick reply

for you 1st and 3rd queries put them in the VSAM & DFSORT forum

your 2nd query is in the correct place and you will need to override the dataset name in the proc
eg
//stepname.ddname DD DSN=your.dev.dsname,DISP=SHR
