Usually we use 'I' or 'S' in the Command Area to view the information about the DASD datasets.
How to view the information of TAPE datasets. Is there any commands like such used to view the DASD datasets.
Thanks in advance. |

In our shop issuing "MYTMS" provides the info. This can be typed against the tape file name. I am not sure whether its standard. |

To copy to DASD, it will automatically pick up the LREC and format of tape file. Just use IEBGENER.
To see the tape chara, another option is to use Ca-1 utility. Do your shop have it? |

You may check the job that creates the tape dataset to obtain the attributes. |
