How to Pass data from Tape to Disk. I used IEHMOVE (and) IEBGENER. But it did not accept. What shall i do.

Hi Prakasam,
I dont know why IEBGENER did not work...cos it shud as such.

I had in my past used SORT with the copy option. Try that out.

Try using ICEGENER too. I think Job recalls the dataset while executing.

Dear Prakasam,

As said by Lakshmi Ramani, go for a sort....That is one of the better way to do that.

Give your tape dsn asn Sortin...and Sortout as your DASD DSN
then go for SORT FIELDS = COPY

This will do the job.
