Hi,

I was given a list of JCLs (2000) from PROD region. I need to compare it against another list of JCLs (1440) from TEST region. I am using 3.13 option to compare these datasets but not successful. Because, Member A in list-1 may not be there in list-2.

Would you people pls suggest me how to work it out?

TIA.

From what you have written, i understood that these are just jobnames.

Thanks,

Ranga,

If you have File-Aid in your shop, you won't have this trouble; file-aid will automatically weed out the unique members.

Regards,
Bharani.

OK, under COMPARE option in File-Aid, if old dataset is a PDS, it would automatically prompt you for members to be selected for compare. Leave "member name mask" blank and press enter (if it's annoying to select all the members in the next screen, come back to member selection screen and force DISPLAY MEMBER SELECTION LIST" as N. When you finish your selection & print criteria as applicable, file-aid would start looking for the non-unique members and report the differences first. After completion of comparison of non-unique members, it will list unique members this way:
Code:

MEMBER NAMES LISTED HORIZONTALLY PRECEDED BY (M)ATCHED, (C)HANGED, (I)NSERTED, (D)ELETED, OR (*)NOT FOUND.

(D)PD1000C1   (M)PD1100C1   (M)PD1200C1   (M)PD1300C1   (M)PD1400C1   (M)PD1500C1   (M)PD1600C1

***  MEMBER CONTENT WAS COMPARED. MATCHED (M) MEANS THE COMPARED FIELDS WERE THE SAME ON BOTH FILES.  ***

             NUMBER OF MATCHED MEMBERS:                    6
             NUMBER OF CHANGED MEMBERS:                    0
             NUMBER OF INSERTED MEMBERS:                   0
             NUMBER OF DELETED MEMBERS:                    1
NUMBER OF MEMBERS NOT FOUND:                  0

Please try and let me know if this doesn't work out for you.
