In RECFM subparameter of DCB parameter the 'A' constant means: the data set contains the ASA print control parameter. It be a print data set. The print data set can write to magnetic diviceses to backup or this data sets can be print later. If you have any question about this , you can send me an mail. |

Hi I know the first character contains carriage control for FBA.
Does this mean one cant write in the first byte of the output file/report and leave that empty for FBA?
I had my output report as Fb earlier and written from 1st byte..but now it has been changed to FBA.Should I have to change the program? |

Even if I give the RECFM as FB my output file is getting created as FBA thus making the output file 1 byte bigger. Any ways to avoid this ? |

What program or utility are you using to output the file? |

Hello,
Either change the code that writes the file or after it is created, copy it to the desired attributes. |

The file definition within the program code overrides any value you code in the JCL. Is this your problem? |

If the file was written using COBOL and the WRITE with ADVANCING verb was used, check the compiler option ADV (see Programming Guide). |
