I don't know if the C has any significance beyond the fact that it's NOT another letter. But 0Cx abends were known as program interrupts when I was growing up.
The difference between those and Abends was that interrupts were sensed and triggered by the harware; Abends were sensed and triggered by system (S) or user (U) software.
Maybe that was the intent of the ques. |

S0C means System 0 (zero) Condition. this is the info as for as i know.
