Hello,

I use VS COBOL 11 on Mainframes. COMP-0 and COMP-X are not supported. Can someone let me know the VS COBOL equivalent of these ?
Thanks in advance.

Both are binary datatypes.

One common use of COMP-X is for extended filestatus byte in Microfocus COBOL (according to various sources, COMP-X is a Microfocus extension NOT supported in standard mainframe COBOL...)

Hello Mike and welcome to the forums,

Thanx for the info.

Please take a minute and remove your e-addr from your signature - there have been problems with spammers geting folks' e-addrs and doing bad things. . .

Also, please note this topic is well over a year old (we probably won't get much action on this one icon_smile.gif ).

Enjoy the forums and let any of us if you have any questions.
