Normally, We issue command 'E' on the command line to edit the data set. But if we edit or view a big file, the status will be changed to browse. Is there a easy way to edit it except using PIPE & DFSORT? |

If you have FileAid it has an option to edit big files. Just go into edit. It will give you the choice. |

hi,
Agreed with mmwife as i do face such problem bt my answer to this problem is FileAid . If you know the position starting end etc you can choose that particular record and edit and that indeed can be done thru the browse option and selecting the Quick or Temporary option.
Hope it cleared the clouds more.....
thanks |
