Hi,

Currently, our Mainframe CICS system connects to a vendor's server through TCP/IP communication channel using the EZASOKET CONNECT call using their IP Address/Port Number. We now want to connect to that vendor's server using their DNS Name. Is that possible? Any inputs on how this can be accomplished would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Ankit

The manual documentation for CONNECT does not indicate you can use the DNS name. However, you can use GETHOSTBYNAME which will return the IP address; you can then use the IP address in the CONNECT.
