Hi,
We are using FASTLOAD 17.0 utility to for load. Getting below error message and job is getting abended with S222 finally. Can someone please help me to resolve this.
below message is from PTIMSG:
PFL4018W - Errors causing rows to be discarded exceeded 1,000
PFL4018W - Errors causing rows to be discarded exceeded 2,000
PFL4018W - Errors causing rows to be discarded exceeded 3,000

I got below information :
Errors causing rows to be discarded exceeded nnn
Reason:
The number of errors that are causing rows to be discarded exceeds the value specified by the DISCARD-WARN option. Every time the utility encounters and exceeds the specified number of errors, or a multiple of that number, this warning message appears. When the total number of errors reaches the limits of memory, the utility terminates abnormally with condition code S106.
Action:
Consider stopping the utility before the memory limit is reached.
but not getting how to resolve the issue. Can someone guide me. |

What you are describing is a symptom of the problem. The real issue is whatever is causing the rows to be discarded. Once you resolve that problem, the PFL4018W messages will stop and the load will work.
You need to work with your site support group to figure out what error is causing the rows to be discarded. If your site support group cannot help you, you need to contact the vendor and work with the vendor's support. Since you have not provided anything for us to help you, there's not much more we on this forum can tell you, except don't confuse the symptom with the problem. |

Presumably error messages are being generated -- somewhere (it is possible that the DD name they are written to is being routed to DUMMY or commented out, in which case your first step would be to make sure those messages are being captured). The messages could be with the FASTLOAD product or they could be with the database itself -- you need to find those messages, interpret their meaning, and use them to resolve the issue. If you are getting the error on every record, for example, you could have a conflict in attributes between the database column definitions and the source data file for FASTLOAD. As I said before, you did not provide any of these error messages and hence there's nothing we can do on this forum to help you resolve the problem. Without something to indicate what error(s) are being generated, we could only guess at the issue and that's not a good way to resolve problems. |
