CA-View job - old instances

Hello,

In my working environment, ca view stores the completed job instances as old as upto 1 year. Not beyond that. I have a job that runs every quarter, that means it stores information of 4 instances only.

Is there a way to go beyond 1 year? Ex, if I need to see the job runs that were completed last year January, is there a way?

I contacted MVS admins in my office, but they told they are not sure if there is a way to do it. They said what ever is there in ca view (1 year), thats it.

Just wanted to be sure on that.

Hello,
The retention period of a job is set on the ERO table of CA-VIEW. ERO table can be found from the SAR started task.

The parameter is RETPD=
Guess that they set it to RETPD=365 at your place.

The good news is that your systems programmers can set specific retention periods for specific jobs by adding a records into the ERO table for that particular job.

Ask your MVS support to check for ERO table entries.

ok, this is for going forward. Right? I mean if they set retpd=730, going forward jobs will be there in ca view for 2 years.

But is there a way to see the old jobs that were already run prior to oct 2013 ( an year from now).
