Hi,
I am doing a mass change of JCL's residing in our site through a tool. The changes are done for around 5000 JCL's. I am trying to save the JCL members in our PDS, so that our RACF/Login ID gets reflected. This would help us tracing back the changes done by person, incase issue arises in production.
I tried googling, and searching around for some help. How can i save all JCL's residing in PDS so that Change Date and ID gets updated. Are there any TSO/ISPF commands or any utilities which can do this. At this point, i am editing the members and saving them individually.
Any help is appreciated. |

I was able to find a solution:
I didnt realize option 3.5 could achieve this. I was able to do mass update to reset and update ISPF statistics under my ID.
Thanks again. |

If you use ISPF facilities to do the change, I think the ISPF statistics will added. |

If you are using a REXX tool to do the MASS update, ISPF statistics will not be added automatically. You can use LMMSTATS in your tool with MODTIME, USER AND MODDATE parms to achieve this. Search for LMMSTATS in forum and you will find many examples. |

ROFL...
If Someone makes changes, it will not be done on a production library, I hope. Of course if that is the case, and they do it in their own library, they can use the ISPF LM functions to set the statistics to whatever they want, including the ones before the change.
In short, this seems to be an exercise in futility. |

I agree. If you are worried about unwanted changes and accountability for changes, you should have library manager software so that changes are approved and updated in a controlled manner.
As Prino mentioned, anyone with update authority to the data set can change the ISPF statistics. |
