Hi,
In production scenario batch gets loaded in to CA7 every on specific time. Now my requirement is not to load the batch at all on a specific date.
Could some suggest me on how to achieve this. Is there any thing that we can do on SCHID parameter not load the batch on a specific date. Or CA7 team can change some parameters in their data base not to load the batch on a specific date.
Thanks & Regards

Well, you say you have a CA7 team - why not ask them? |

Terminology is critical in IT where similar terms may mean very different things. Are you talking about "loading" or "triggering"? From the CA-7 Primer manual Glossary:

load. A process that adds job and data set definitions to the CA-7 database. This is how CA-7 knows which data sets are created and used by each job. |
A job will normally be loaded one time, and then not loaded again until the JCL is changed for some reason. On the other hand, a job may be triggered at the same time every day -- in which case the JCL that has been loaded is submitted to the internal reader for execution at the appropriate time.
Your site CA-7 staff should be able to handle the one-time change; either by using an override that does nothing or by setting the job to be non-executable for the one day (there are other ways, as well, to achieve your goal -- the specific one chosen by the site CA-7 group would depend upon them). |

Hello,
You should talk with the CA7 people, explain what you want to do, and they should be able to tell you if they can support what you want. They know how your system is set up - no one here knows this. |

If the requirement is not to execute batch on specific dateS on several dates, then
"CA-7 Calendar" could do this. Calendar is something that is set up on CA-7 and it says CA-7 when a job needs to run and when not to.
If it is a one time requirement then there may be other ways to stop jobs from executing. As suggested you site CA-7 scheduler team should be able to decide the best solution. |
