I'm finding a way to print error message , and this message should be highlighted all the time with specified color, such as RED, so that the operator can moniter the fatal error message and take corresponding actions.
I was trying to do via CICS WRITE OPERATOR command, but the message was printed into system log without special color.
any feasible way to to this?
thanks in advance. |

just forget about it,
the times when the operator was just sitting looking at the console messages scrolling by
are long gone
why not just let message automation take care of it ??? |

Is the message being generated by the application program or by CICS itself, such as (for example) prefixed with a "DFH" together with (for example) an ASRA abend-code?
As Enrico has suggested, message automation can take care of this, by screen-scraping the console for a particular message and notifying the associated on-call person(s) via an e-Mail and/or page.
Many of the CICS messages can be re-routed from the default destination of "MSGUSR" (CSMT) to the console, via a user-written GLUE exit-program driven by "XMEOUT".
GLUE exit-programs are not for the faint of heart and requires good Assembler and CICS skills. |

Hello,
Yes, yes.
Suggest you search for ibm console automation for IBM/Tivoli info. There are several other vendors also. |
