AFAIK you don't need to retrieve/signout the element before deleting it.
However if any of the elements you are trying to delete is signned-out then you may get a failure while deleting it. If you are planning to use OVERRIDE SIGNOUT, then use it with caution, after confirming that the element is not required. |

Hi Vasanth,
Thanks for your reply. I am not trying to delete the element but making it obsolete, these are two different options in Endevor. |

Hello,
I have not heard the term obsolete in Endevor and neither there is any mention of it in Endevor User Guide Could you please let me know the what is the difference between obsolete and delete? Maybe it is a terminology used locally?
Thanks & Regards, |

hi,
yes, might be this term is used locally. But by obsolecsing, we mean TRANSFER (actual option name in Endevor) from one system to another system (read obsolete system), so that element is not deleted and moved away from production and yet available in Endevor for future views.
I have now retrieved the elements, not added them to stage and have packaged them for TRANSFER. Not sure whether I need to add to stage or not.
Thanks. |
