in step2 : i am trying to copy from PS to new created GDG version
in step3 : again i created a new GDG version
in step4 : i am trying to copy from step2 GDG version to new created GDG version
now the question is in step1 what will be the version number 0 or +1

and now what will be the GDG version in step3
and how u refer it +1 or +2 something else..........
upto my knowledge untill job ends the new GDG version will be +1 and if again it creates a new GDG version it may abends........

The answer is never. You, lik almost everyone wanting to use a GDG, are confusing Version and Generation.
The Version is the part which starts V and is usually, but doesn't have to be, 00. If you have G0034V00 and make a new "Version" you get G0034V01" and the G0034V00 disappears into thin air (not literally, but it might as well have done for your purpose).
The Generation is the part which starts with G. You may now confuse your colleagues, who might not, but definitely should, know the difference between Version and Generation, Oh dear, that could get messy. Perhaps use there terms how they are used at your site, but when you ask a question here translate using an ASKEY table. |
