Find out how everyone else does it at your site, and do it that way.

So, at your site the DBAs(?) do that sort of thing. But you are accessing anohter mainframe at the moment. How do they do it there? If again it is "someone else's job" what would be the point in anyone telling you? You'd risk getting a "severe kicking" for doing something you're not supposed to.

Based upon your requirements, you need two PPT entries. PCT entries are for transaction's.

Surely, there must be a backup person available that has RDO access?

If not, don't try this on your own (without approval) as breaching security could land you in very hot water.

What version of CICS are you using? PCT and PPT stopped being used many releases of CICS ago. Programs, maps, and transactions have been defined for several years via the online transaction CEDA. It is impractical to attempt to provide you with enough information to adequately use CEDA on a forum -- there is simply too much you have to know (such as what is a list? what is a group? which list -- or lists -- are autoinstalled for that region? which CSD does the region use?. Find someone at your site who can help you.

Ram,

Learning, looking to pick-up things as you go along, is far from being a bad thing.

Some things you have to go about in the right way. In this case, you should have got everything ready before asking "permission", because permission to do what you don't know how is not worth much.

enrico posted to the Genal Talk forum a link to how to ask questions. Read the document. If you follow the principles there, you'll be able to ask about pretty-much what you like, and a lot of the time you'll find your own answer whilst preparing, and won't even need the question.
