Hello,
When you receive this error, press F1, it would give you more details of who is using the PDS. |

On the command line execute the command,
Quote: |
tso isrddn e 'YOUR.PDS.NAME' |
It will tell you if someone/some job is using your PDS.
Just a wild guess,
put E for edit infornt of a PS dataset,
when the below panel appears,
Code: |
.-------------------------------------------------------------.
| Workstation Help |
| ---------------------------------------------------------- |
| EDIT Entry Panel |
| |
| Object Name: |
| 'WELLS.SORTIN' |
| * No workstation connection |
| Initial Macro . . RES |
| Profile Name . . . RES (Blank defaults to Type) |
| Format Name . . . |
| Panel Name . . . . (Leave blank for default) |
| |
| Options |
| / Confirm Cancel/Move/Replace |
| EDIT Mixed Mode |
| EDIT host file on Workstation |
| Preserve VB record length |
| / Warn on First Data Change |
| ASCII data |
| |
| Press ENTER to continue. Press CANCEL to cancel action. |
| |
'-------------------------------------------------------------' |
What are the entries u have on Initial Macro and profile name?
Maybe try changing it to RES and then, go to your PDS and then try editing.
Hope it helps. |

NO, nothing we can do,
too much traffic of questions and answers,
what happens when you do this, that, something else ...
talk to Your support, the error is not likely to be generated by a vanilla ISPF edit request !
more likely to be the consequence of a poorly written application , or poor handling of errors! |

Edit any member,
Type 'PROF' to display profile information,
Check if you have IMACRO NONE.
If not, you have found the problem... |

Hello Marso,
AS per the TS' description, User was unable to open the PDS wither view or edit, so he would not be able to issue PROF command. |

Hello,
I would like to narrow down the possibilities of your problem.
I wonder, did you try to edit from ISPF menue 2?
Do you get this effect with every dataset? Or only with an dataset with an specific last qualifier? The edit profile is bound to the last qualifier of an dataset name.
Is "A519114.EASYTRIV.REP." the dataset name you intend to edit?
Could it be a problem with the TSO PROFILE? In that case "TSO PROFILE NOPREFIX" could help you.
What is the specification of your dataset? LRECL, RECFM, DSORG
I could help to get some more information.
With kind regards
Michael |
