hello experts,

Please let me know the solution....,

if there is any other way to delete members from PDS. members are more than 150.

I know it can be done in SAS. I am working on SAS to COB conversion. So i need that to be done using utilities.

Thanks in advance.

Well, the ISPF usage in this case cant be run in a batch job.
And if you know how to do it in SAS, do it in SAS.

Certainly would be simple to do in ISPF by issuing one command (D P*), but the basic process in batch would be:

- Create a list of members of the PDS.
- Select those that start with 'P' and build a corresponding DELETE statement.
- Execute the series of DELETE statements.

There are plenty of previous topics to refine your process from:

From the Command Line in a 3.1 member list 5.2.4.3 D -- delete members

actually, I think you can do it from 3.1 and 3.4, but I did not bother to test.

dbz,

I did try to test and could not find anywhere to enter this as a Primary Command for a member list (the apparent format of superk's response).

Option 3.1 will allow a member name mask as panel input when selecting the Delete option.

Might be my mistake. icon_redface.gif I remember seeing that specific command posted here years ago by someone I believe to be reputable, but to be honest I don't think I've ever tried it.
