In brief: if you can and will write your own scheduler, we can't stop you; if you can't or won't, we won't help you...for less than USD1000/day, at any rate. |

Hello,
Create 2 jobs that each have the required steps. . . The second could be submitted as the last step of the first job.
If you really have heartburn about having the same jcl in both jobs, make this "common" step a PROCedure and invoke it from both jobs. |

The master scheduler JCL referenced in your link is not what you want to do. Did you read and understand it? |

Or maybe we know enough not to suggest something that won't do what you think it will? Notice that this JCL is in the MVS Initialization and Tuning manual -- not a place for a mainframe trainee to be looking for JCL to execute!
Personally, I think you ought to try running the JCL in your link. I'm not sure if running a second master scheduler job stream will abend the LPAR or not; I suspect so but it would be nice to know for sure. But be aware that many shops will immediately take action, up to and including termination of the employee, when an unauthorized person attempts to use the master scheduler JCL. |

Opinions vary and you are demonstrating that yours does not much matter. . .
You have been told how to accomplish what you want to do. Now it is time for you to stop flailing about and implement the simple solutions you have already been given.
It is most doubtful that any of the contributors will be concerned that the operating system was not implemeted to suit you
Somewhere along the line you need to understand that what you want to do is both quite common and trivial. |
