Hi Everyone,

While batch processing i faced an abend with message "CONDITION CODE=112 DADBI005 REQUEST NOT PROCESSED. NOT ENOUGH SPACE ON QUEUE TO PROCESS ALL REQUESTS." The step was mainly trying to allocate a few files to CICS executing the pgm=DADBBI and it abended with the above message. Can anyone help me in understanding the reason behind abend and the solution that can avoid these abends from abending again?

Hi Havish,

First of all... "abends" do no abend again... its programs or JCL's that abend... icon_razz.gif

I do not have much idea about DADBBI utility, but probably u can have a look here....

www.ibmmainframes.com/viewtopic.php?t=26952&highlight=dadbbi

As told... the manuals available from the site should have some details on what causes CC=12.

Actually, AFAIK it is only programs that abend.

Once more let us clarify exactly what JCL is.

it is Job Control Language.

By itself it does nothing. It is used to invoke the chosen program and to define which datasets are to be used by the DD names associated with the chosen program.

JCL does not have magical powers that solve all problems, JCL is merely the vehicule for telling the processor which program you want it to execute.

Yes you can, just "quote" the lines from the manual here. Posting a scrap from manuals in limit will not breach any copyright act. (just in case you had been thinking about that.)

If you have manuals available to you as an end user -- they should not be linked via the forums, as a good practice. Just in case, some one does that, some good Moderators ('am not included) are just around...

Thanks Anuj for your reply...i was actually wondering about copyright violation only...

So now that it is ok to quote one from the Message guide...here is what it says for the error code of DADBI005

Quote:
DADBI005 REQUEST NOT PROCESSED. NOT ENOUGH SPACE ON QUEUE TO PROCESS ALL REQUESTS.
Reason: The request(s) could not be processed due to the batch interface file not having
enough room for the requests. The batch interface may need to be increased in
size, or there are to many active queued requests currently on the batch
interface file.
Action: Contact your system program and have the batch interface file queued requests
listed, and increased in size if necessary.

Hope this helps
AB.

Thanks Havish for letting us know the final solution you used. But anyhow, I feel little dumb, when Anjali and you use the term "increased the batch interface" -- what exactly do you mean by this?
